Making Races your friend....

It says the Split are my friends, yet i am not allowed to dock at any of thier stations. Do you guys have any tips on how i can gain access to split stations?

where would I find a mission that would make the split like me? or some other way?

ok, i selected a shipyard in Choes Defeat and they granted me docking, but in other split sectors i am denied. i guess this is to give me a chance to raise my race rank with them and gain access to OTHER split sectors. there's probably split missions available in Choes Defeat.

ok, got to the shipyard but my notoriety is too low. i guess i need to trade in split sectors that allow me to dock, in order to get my notoriety up.

ok, here's the thing that sucks about this. i cant tell which split sectors will let me dock, and which ones wont let me dock. so travelling around with a full load of ore, looking to sell it can be a total waste of time.

therefore, i went to the teladi sectors and i'm trading around there, because i know i can dock at all teladi stations, allowing me to concentrate on best sells with the goal of getting my noteriety up so i can get a Pelican.

too bad. i really wanted a Boa. i'm thinking the only option is to collect ore and then sell sell sell only to split in that one sector. will this raise my notoriety?

There are two security zones in each empire. "Core" and "Border". In the universe map it will tell you which sectors are which (the details on the right tend to say something like Split, Core). You can dock in Border sectors a rank or two below you can dock in core ones. Take a mission or two in the border ones to shunt your rep higher easily, or sell them stuff or just blow up a few Pirates (will reduce pirate rep though). The other way is to pick on the Boron, Split and the Boron are enemies so killing Boron pilots in Split space gets you small rep increases with the Split. But it loses Boron rep FAST!

NICE, thanks man. this will help greatly. i'm gonna head back to border ones and look for some "escort" missions and see what happens.
